PRODUCT EXPERIENCE / TWO REAL APPLICATION SCREENS

From sign-in to the staff record.

An attendance tool becomes useful when the employee interface connects to authentication and retrievable records. These two authentic Laravel screens show that path with generated data.

01 / PROJECT CONTEXT

The use case

Attendance management requires a clear route from employee action to records an administrator can inspect. This Laravel project connects sign-in, attendance screens, record structure and permission/reporting paths. It demonstrates how I approach internal business software: identify the daily task, connect frontend and backend, then make its output reviewable.

02 / HOW IT WORKS

Inside the build

The repository connects web routes, controllers, request validation and database migrations. Attendance records include timestamps, location and photo fields; permission workflows are modeled separately.

03 / DIRECT CODE EVIDENCE

Explore the implementation

Inspect the Laravel controllers, routes and database schema at the revision shown here. The links expose the implementation behind the application.

01 / Web routes and feature boundariesInspect code ↗
routes/web.php

Maps attendance, permission, employee and reporting endpoints and applies authentication middleware to selected employee routes.

02 / Attendance request handlingInspect code ↗
app/Http/Controllers/AttendanceController.php

Contains photo/location input validation, check-in/check-out flow, date filtering and PDF-oriented reporting methods.

03 / Request and approval workflowInspect code ↗
app/Http/Controllers/PermissionController.php

Handles employee permission submissions and a status-update path with request validation.

04 / Persisted attendance data modelInspect code ↗

Includes a foundational Laravel feature smoke test, providing a starting point for deeper workflow and authorization tests.

04 / ENGINEERING HIGHLIGHTS

What the client gets from this engineering

  • Connected routes, forms, controllers and relational persistence into one operational workflow.
  • Modeled check-in, check-out, employee permissions and reporting as separate concerns.
  • Identified the difference between code presence and operational proof: coverage and access controls require additional verification.
05 / PROJECT STATUS

Current stage

Laravel application prototype with public source and a basic framework smoke test. Production deployment would include targeted workflow tests and a complete role/authorization review.
